Breathing Treatments

So last week Collin got a pretty bad cough, but I wasn't too worried about it because he didn't seem to struggle with breathing or have a wheeze until Saturday morning. On Saturday morning I was listening to Collin breathing and I noticed a slight wheeze. I called the after hours office and made an appointment for 11:20. After the doctor listened to him for a bit, he said he was really having a hard time breathing and sounded really congested. He said he needed a breathing treatment right away, which was a nebulizer that blew a mist of Albuterol Sulfate into his nose and mouth. It took about 8 minutes and Collin screamed the whole time. The doctor came in after and said that he sounded much better and that he wasn't going to give him a steroid right then, but that we needed to keep a close eye on him and if he wasn't getting better in the next few days to bring him back. So we got a nebulizer delivered to our house and have been giving him treatments every 4 or 5 hours. It seems to help him for a while, so hopefully this will get him on the upswing of things. The doctor didn't know for sure if it was bronchitis or RSV, but since he responded so well to the breathing treatment he felt that this would help him enough. He doesn't mind them so much now that both Chase and I are doing it. Here's a few pictures of the one we gave him last night around 10:30-

No fun!!! Hey, you had it better than Brian's cousin's kid. She had such a hard time breathing, the after hours Dr. had to send her to the ER for immediate surgery!!!! The steroids they gave her didn't work, and she's just a little over a year old. Scary.

Oh, so sad. It is hard when they're sick! What a cute little face he has while getting his breathing treatment. Hope he feels better soon!
