Spoiler alert!

For those who have not read the Twilight series, and you want to read it at some point, you probably don't want to read this blog. I'm in the middle of the 3rd book and I will try to be as general as possible, but I can't promise that I won't let anything slip.

Ok, with that out of the way, let me just say that I enjoy how Stephanie Meyers writes. I enjoyed Twilight mostly because of her writing style. It was hard to put down. I would say my only complaint would be the time that Edward spent in Bella's room. I know, they didn't do anything. But I would not want my 13-17 year-old reading about them spending time like that in her room. Call me crazy.

The second book was hard. The writing was good, but the story line, only so-so. As much as I love to read about Bella complaining... it got a little old. And then the whole story between her and Jacbo. I mean, I guess it was ok since Edward was gone, and she really didn't think he was coming back. But when Edward came back, she really needed to break it off with Jacob. I know she wanted to be friends and all since he was such a good "friend" while Edward was gone, but she knew how he felt.

That leads us to the 3rd book. Again, I haven't finished it. But I'm not a huge fan of 1- her continued relationship with Jacob now that Edward is back. I know that we should still all be able to be friends even when we're seriously dating other people, but when the guy we want to be friends with kisses us, I think that's a pretty big sign that they can't handle being just friends. And I know that once he kissed her she knew that she needed to back off. But she knew that before, and just ignored it. She just needed to stop trying with Jacob. 2- getting to the point where I really am annoyed with her dad. Can't he grow up just a little? Granted, I probably wouldn't be super happy with a girl if she went and broke Collin's heart and then tried to come back. But I hope I wouldn't act like such a jerk. And its not like Jacob's been this perfect little angel either. He stopped being her friend when he changed. He didn't return her phone call's for weeks. 3- her feelings about marriage. I've never been there (dealing with divorced parents like she does), so I'm not going to say a whole lot. But she's ok with spending the rest of eternity with Edward, but not marring him? Whatever.

I know, I know, you're thinking, Jen, if you don't like the books, just stop reading them. The problem is, I want to find out what happens. So I've decided to just skim though the last of the 3rd book and most of the 4th. Like I said, I enjoy the writing, just not the whole deal with Jacob and Edward. Anyway, I just had to complain a little... don't hate me if you love these books.

so I don't have your email address or else I'd send you a little invite from this website, but you should sign up on www.goodreads.com, you can keep track of books you're reading and rate them, etc. and then see what your friends are reading too, it's kinda fun.

I haven't read the series, but my sisters have and they said there is NO WAY they are going to let they're daughters read it because in the 4th book there's suggested sex in it. And pretty graphic. Glad I never started to read them.
