discussions vs. debates

Normally Chase and I are able to have calm discussions where we can share our feelings and thoughts about tv shows, stuff Collin is doing, the car, music, ect. But every now and then we go through this phase, I like to call it our debate phase. We don't ever agree on anything. I say, huh, I like that girl's shirt. Chase says, I don't know, the color is kind of weird. me- Yeah, but its not a bad color, it looks good on her. It probably wouldn't look good on me though. chase- I think it would. me- No, it wouldn't....
We become very defensive about our opinion, one of us is right and its now our job to convince the other that they are wrong. It happens with everything, even this post :) Its actually really really annoying. Anyone else go though this?

You guys are probably just upset that Michael Jackson died and aren't dealing with your feelings appropriately. Instead you're taking them out on each other. Actually, about every three months Bryan has his "time of the month" and we don't get along at all for a couple of days. Since it happens pretty regularly I blame it on the fact that our "cycles" happen at about the same time, so it's hormones. I know that sounds dumb, but I'm serious.

I know how that goes. Disagreeing just for the sake of something to do. A little disagreement is healthy though. As long as no ones feelings get hurt.
